Gregory DeLaurier, M.D.

Dr. Gregory DeLaurier is a board-certified colon and rectal surgeon. A Georgia native, he joined University Health Alliance (UHA) in 2023. 

Dr. DeLaurier received his doctoral degree in medicine from the Medical College of Georgia, in Augusta, Georgia. He completed an internship and residency at the Medical College of Georgia’s hospitals and clinics. Additionally, he completed a colon and rectal surgery fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. DeLaurier is a former major of the United States Air Force and held a position in the inactive reserve for nine years before serving three years on active duty. He also served as an instructor of a C4 combat casualty care course for military branches. 

Leading UHA’s colon and rectal care and surgeries service line, Dr. DeLaurier provides premium medical care for patients seeking relief from colorectal diseases and conditions. Dr. DeLaurier specializes in diverticulitis, colon cancer, anal and rectal cancer, hemorrhoid treatment, anal fissure treatment, anorectal abscess, fistulas of the colon and anus, rectal prolapse, and polyps of the colon and rectum. He performs laparoscopic and robotic surgical procedures including transanal minimally invasive surgery, stapled hemorrhoidopexy, colon cancer screenings, colonoscopy, and high resolution anoscopy. 

Dr. DeLaurier is a peer-reviewed author published in The Journal of Clinical Pharmacy, The Journal of Trauma, The American Journal of Surgery, Annals of Surgery, and The American Surgeon. He is an active member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, the Medical Association of Georgia, the Crawford Long Medical Society, the Moretz Surgical Society, the Priestly Society (Mayo Clinic Surgical Society), and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. 

Dedicated to contributing to the advancement of colorectal surgery, Dr. DeLaurier is interested in new technology including high resolution anoscopy. Additionally, he is passionate about educating patients on the importance of early colorectal diagnosis to prevent diseases.
