Steven Chesser, M.D.

Dr. Chesser is a board-certified internal medicine physician. A Georgia native, Dr. Chesser joined University Health Alliance in 2022.

A graduate of Columbus College in Columbus, Georgia, Dr. Chesser received a degree in Biology with honors. He graduated with high distinction from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia where he received a doctoral degree in medicine.

Dr. Chesser completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, Georgia. During his career, he has worked as an internist in private practice as well as serving as the medical director for the Center for Rehabilitative Medicine at St. Mary’s Hospital in Athens. He has also served as a volunteer at Mercy Health Center. 

Dr. Chesser is an active member of the Coalition of Athens Area Physicians, the Medical Association of Georgia, the American College of Physicians, and a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine.

In his free time, Dr. Chesser enjoys spending time with his wife and children, and beloved Labrador retriever. He is an avid outdoors enthusiast whose hobbies include hunting, fishing, and working in his yard.
